Grays beachcombers pick up the plastic

By Neil Speight 8th Nov 2020

ONCE again a group of enthusiastic volunteers have been busy protecting the bank of the River Thames from a plastic menace.

Supporters of the Grays Beachcombers turned out in numbers this morning (Sunday, 8 November) for another litter picking event at Grays Beach.

And the 15 pickers filled sacks, including including 257 single use plastic bottles.

Today lots of emphasis was also placed on bagging the smaller pieces of plastics that continue to be washed up on the foreshore on each high tide.
