STAFF at the Thurrock branch of Manorcourt Homecare are appealing for the person who nominated them for a certificate of recognition to come forward to be properly thanked.

The homecare provider's Thurrock-based branch received a Mayor's certificate of recognition for the caring support they have been giving to home-based residents during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thurrock Mayor Cllr Sue Shinnick sent the certificate to the branch with the following message: "Someone has been so grateful for your acts of kindness during COVID-19 they have asked for you to receive a civic recognition in my capacity as Mayor of Thurrock.

"As such I would like to thank you wholeheartedly for the incredible generosity and support you have provided during this time."

Thurrock branch manager Karen Exley said that she and her team were very proud to receive the recognition. She said: "It's been a tough time as our first priority is to ensure the people we care for are safe, happy and well while at the same time making sure our staff are also safe and looked after as well.

"Everyone working here goes above and beyond to do their very best, providing the highest standards of care in the community. We have a fantastic team of people of working here.

"That's why this recognition from the Mayor means so much and we are incredibly grateful. We only wish we could extend our thanks to the person who nominated us."

Manorcourt Homecare, part of Healthcare Homes Group, has been named a Top 20 Homecare Provider by independent reviews site homcare.co.uk and provides a wide range of homecare and live-in care services across Essex and East Anglia.

The company is currently on a recruitment drive to attract more people to a career in care, and the team have been popping up at local events across Essex.

Karen adds: "If you or someone you know is looking for a new and rewarding role and want to be part of our growing team of care professionals, then we would like you to give us a call and find out more.

"The demand for homecare is increasing dramatically as families look for other ways to support their relatives to live safely and comfortably in their own homes. As such we are looking for more people to help us provide that service."
