WORK is underway on improvements including new lefts at Grays rail station.

Train operator c2c and Network Rail are working to install step-free access facilities at the railway station.

Two new lifts, one on each platform, will be built, connecting to the existing pedestrian subway under the tracks, making a substantial difference to passengers.

Work began earlier this month, with the final major construction works currently planned for the end of August.

While work is taking place the subway between the platforms will be closed,
