Grays surgery closed for clean after possible Coronavirus contact

By Neil Speight 10th Mar 2020

A DOCTORS' surgery in the middle of Grays has been closed becasue of a possible contact with Coronavirus.

The Thurrock Health Centre on the High Street failed to open this morning and patients turned up were told that it will be closed for the rest of the day at least, and possibly longer.

However, Thurrock Clinical Commissioning Group has now confirmed that it is hoped to reopen by 4pm.

A statement says: ""Thurrock Health Centre is temporarily closed today to enable a clean of the surgery as a routine precautionary measure.

The practice will reopen for face to face today (10 March) at 4pm and patients will be advised if their appointment needs to be rearranged.

"We are currently doing a telephone triage to provide service.

"We apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused.

"Safety is our priority and we have been working with public health teams to make sure there is no risk to staff and patients.

"Patients can still be seen at Oddfellows surgery Dell road."
