Great news for Lifeskills students and region's young people as rescuer takes over failed college

By Neil Speight 29th Oct 2022

A NEW operator has stepped in and will be taking over the former Kifeskills College in Basildon, whioch is attended by young people from across South Essex.

Earlier this month Nub News reported on the sudden closure of Lifeskills, which operated from Basildon town centre, and the subsequent protest from parents, students and staff.

Now it has been announced that the Watford-based TCHC Group will be taking over and introducing its GAPS Study Programme at Basildon.

A statement from TCHC says: "We welcome LifeSkills staff into our TCHC family and can't wait to continue delivery of programmes to learners!

TCHC's Managing Director, Courtney Grinham, added; "Continuation of learning and education for young people is a key determining factor in their future success.

"I am delighted TCHC Group will be delivering the programmes that were available previously in Basildon to young people and welcome LIfeSkills staff to the TCHC Family.

"GAPS Study Programme Basildon will start supporting learners with immediate effect ensuring a seamless transition."
