A NUMBER of planters, reflecting Thurrock's history, have been unveiled at sites across the borough.

Five 'Green Lady' planters have been installed on high streets – and will be planted to help Thurrock Council bring more greenery to town centres.

The five bespoke planters are intended to enhance the street scene for anyone shopping in local high streets, and each tell the story of Thurrock's inspirational history.

You can find the 'Green Ladies' on:

Derwent Shopping Parade, South Ockendon

Grays High Street

Calcutta Road, Tilbury

King Street, Stanford-le-Hope

Gordon Road, Corringham

A council statement said: "Thanks to Tim Ward, artist and founder of Circling the Square, for working with us to design these new planters as part of the Green Street Furniture Project, supported by our Welcome Back Fund programme."
