Having a ball for good cause

By Neil Speight 20th Oct 2022

LODGES from within the Cross Keys Masonic Centre in Chadwell St Mary had an absolute ball raising money for the 'Changing Pathways' Women's refuges in Thurrock.

The Ball which was organised by members of Thurrock Lodge, Henry De Gray Lodge and St Johns Lodge took place at Langdon Hills Golf club on Saturday, 15 October and raised in excess of £3000thanks to the generosity of its guests who took part in raffles, auctions and other events in the build up to the evening itself.

The black tie occasion was attended by well over 100 guests who enjoyed a silver service meal and danced the night away into the late hours.

A rousing speech during the evening by Zoe Mckee (Operations Manager for Thurrock & EDAPP Health services), was extremely well received and certainly helped towards the donations reaching the figure it did.

All money raised from the evening will be put towards organising a Children's Panto and other events for both Changing Pathways and other local community incentives.

Event organisers Dave Barton, Chris Bushell, Clive Cheeseman and Mick Draper wish to thank all those who attended for their remarkable kindness, and to thank the venue itself for helping to put together such a successful and enjoyable evening for a very worthwhile cause.
