THE games are on again.
That's the joyful message from a Thurrock charity which supports lonely members in the borough community.
The Re-engage charity runs afternoon tea parties for many older folk across the borough as an opportunity to bring them together and make new friends and enjoy some happy time.
The tea parties recently restarting following a lengthy break due to Covid-19 – though throughout the pandemic volunteers have been keeping in touch with vulnerable residents and taking them supportive gifts and packages.
Now another of the strands to the Re-engage bow is back in business.
Volunteer group oo-ordinator Paula Mullooly runs a monthly games group which has just held its first meeting for three years.
She says: "It was great to restart the games night for our Re-engage guests. Lots of games were played all with fun and laughter. Thanks as always to the drivers for your care and support of our lovely guests. See you all next month.
"And thank you to the manager of Thurrock Sheltered Housing for your continued support allowing us to use Headon Hall, without the use of this lovely hall our events would not be possible. This is the first games night in over three years. It was great to have it up and running again."
