Heartwarming moment as bin crew say thanks to special lady Rose

By Neil Speight 20th Dec 2020

A THURROCK Council bin crew moved a borough resident to tears as they thanked her for her generosity and kindness through the year.

The moving moments were played out at Rose's home in Wartburtons in Corringham on the Andersons Estate, where Tony Loughlin delivered the gift on behalf of his himself and colleagues on a general waste collection crew.

Tony said: "I have a lovely lady on my bin round that gives us biscuits and sweets every week. She lost her husband Jim this time last year. It's been a challenging year for us all but especially for Rose. I thought I'd cheer her up with a gift. A cushion with a photograph of her late husband Jim on it. She said it made her year."

The heartwarming moment has made big waves on social media and Tony added: "I called her and told her just how many lovely comments people have wrote about her and bless her she was still choked and said she had been cuddling the cushion all day."
