A STUDENT at Hathaway  Academy in Grays has been honoured by Little Haven's Children's Hospice for her fundraising efforts.

Heidi Decruz was inspired to help the hospice because of the care it offered to her five-year-old cousin Noah Cox-Lee, who died in May this year.

Noah's story was told on our sister site,  Basildon Nub News, after his local community – including Thurrock bikers – turned out for a remarkable and colourful Disney-styled funeral following his passing.

To help Havens, Heidi organised a bake sale that raised £210 but also made Hathaway history by getting the school to allow a 'trainer day' that raised another £350 for Great Ormand Street Hospital, where Noah was treated.
