THURROCK students have been considering their futures after receiving their A-Level and BTEC results today (Thursday, 15 August).

Cllr Vikki Hartstean, Thurrock Council's cabinet member for children's services and education, said: "It was wonderful to speak to the students receiving their BTEC results this morning at South Essex College and hearing all about their future plans and aspirations.

"I know results day can sometimes be overwhelming for our students who may not necessarily know what they want to do next.

"I would really recommend for anyone aged between 16 and 25 who may be uncertain about their next steps to get in touch with our Career Advisers at the Inspire Youth Hub. I have seen first-hand the fantastic help and advice they are able to offer which should reassure our young people that there are options out there for them.

"They are hosting post-results day support sessions on Tuesday 27 August and are available for one-to-one appointments.

"Careers Advisers are great at listening to your passions, your skills and what you're good at, and exploring what jobs, training or careers could suit you best across many different industries."

The Inspire Hub in Grays has arranged a special support session for anyone struggling to decide on their next steps following the GCSE, BTEC and A-level results days.

The session will be open from 10am until 3pm on Tuesday, 27 August at the Inspire Hub in Orsett Road, Grays. It will be attended by the Inspire Hub's team of career advisors, as well as representatives from South Essex College, USP College and Central Training Group, who will be able to advise on options for apprenticeships, courses or universities.

Anyone aged 16 to 25 is welcome to drop in to Inspire Youth Hub (24 - 28 Orsett Road, Grays) Tuesday to Friday, or contact the team in advance to have a conversation or make an appointment.

For more information visit the Inspire Youth Hub webpage, email [email protected] or call 01375 413 735.
