HGV routing change for days two and three of Manorway work
By Nub News Reporter 31st Mar 2026
THURROCk Council has amended travel plans relating to the diversion of HGVs to and from DP World London Gateway Port, which will continue for three more nights.
Yesterday (Monday, 30 March) saw the first day of the overnight works on a bridge on the Manorway which meant HGV traffic arriving at the port was diverted via Stanford-le-Hope's London Road, Church Hill and Corringham Road.
That should have been repeated tonight but a hiccup at the bridge site means they are switching things around and tonight (and tomorrow) it will be traffic leaving the port that goes through the town centre. The final night of works (Thursday) will see a switch back to diversion for traffic approaching - but the work is said to be on track for completion and the inconvenience should end on time.
A statement from Thurrock Council says: "The road will remain open in both directions during the day. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these overnight works."
