High tide sees Thames lapping over Grays promenade

AS predicted in recent flood warnings, the Thames has been in full flow and in part risen to be above some riverside paths in Grays this afternoon (Wednesday, 5 January).
The pictures attached to this story were taken around 2pm, about half an hour before the high tide mark.
Flood warnings extended across the length of Thurrock on the Thames, from Coalhouse Fort in the east of the borough at East Tilbury and Purfleet-on-Thames in the west.
