ST Luke's Hospice has organised a carers' information and support event for people looking after someone with dementia.

It will take place at the Thurrock unit of the hospice at Farrier's Way (off Lower Dunton Road) near Horndon on the Hill on Monday, 15 May from 10am to 2.30pm.

A statement from the hospice, which serves the Thurrock and Basildon areas, says: "All carers who provide care to those with dementia are welcome and invited to book a time slot at the event, whether they are new to our service or have registered previously and would like to keep in touch.

"Carers attending on the day will have an opportunity to talk to our hospice team who can offer a diverse range of practical and financial advice, training and emotional support, as well as strategies for looking after yourself while in your carer role.

"Our professional partners who are exhibition on the daw will provide a variety of information on topics such as assistive technologies, social care, homecare providers, home aids and equipment to support careers."

To register interest and confirm an hourly time slot contact carers support co-ordinator Lita Walpole on 07775 439108 or email [email protected].
