Hospital staff are paid a musical tribute and public invited to contribute to fund

A MUSICAL tribute to NHS staff - particularly those at Basildon & Thurrock Hospital - has been paid by local artists who have come together to create a special video.

Towngate Theatre and Basildon Borough Council brought together 16 talented singers and musicians from across the region to collaborate on a special tribute to say thank you to NHS workers, carers and key workers.

Only You, originally an 80s hit for Basildon band Yazoo, written by Vince Clarke and sung by Alison Moyet, has had the lyrics rewritten to 'We Thank You'. Local producer Pete Booker put together the musical track and local musician and songwriter Ben Fisher (who also works for the Towngate Theatre), coordinated the project and features on the song.
