STAFF, partners and families were invited to the new Stanford-le-Hope Family Hub this week to celebrate the new space.
The hub, which is also shared with the Young People's Hub; a space for Thurrock's care-experienced young people, features a playroom, meeting room and health room for families to access activities, meet other parents and access support.
Activities and services available include:
- Music and rhyme time
- Stay and play sessions
- Parental outreach advice
- Arts and crafts
- Health services
- Early Years education
Family hubs provide a welcoming space for families with children and young people aged 0 to 19, and up to 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). As well as activities for children, families can access advice, guidance and support from a range of health, education and community services.
Cllr Milena Bingley, cabinet member for Education, Skills and Children's Services, said: "The upgraded Stanford-le-Hope Family Hub is a fantastic community asset that will help ensure families can access support, advice and activities close to home.
"Family hubs play a vital role in bringing services together under one roof, making it easier for parents, carers, children and young people to get the support they need. It is wonderful so many were able to join us to celebrate the opening of this improved space, and I look forward to seeing it become a thriving hub for the local community."
