SERVICES on c2c lines on the Thurrock loop were suspended this evening (Friday, 31 October).

The line reopened at 1.20am (Saturday).

Reports on social media say a pedestrian has been in collision with a westbound freight train at the East Tilbury station crossing.

A c2c post says: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident at East Tilbury some lines via Grays are blocked. Train services via Tilbury Town may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Tilbury Town, East Tilbury and Stanford-le-Hope will not be served."

A rail replacement bus service has been set up and c2c added: "Tickets can be used at no extra cost on Rail Replacement Bus Services between Upminster and Pitsea via Chafford Hundred and Tilbury Town in both directions until further notice."

c2c and emergency services have been contacted and any statements will be published asap.
