It's a busy time at the Thameside. Shows for the youngsters over half term - why not pay a visit to the borough's local theatre?

A SERIES of shows with young people in mind are about to take place at Thurrock's Thameside Theatre.

On Sunday, 24 October Dreams Theatre School will be back on the Thameside stage to present Peter Pan. You can book tickets for the show, which starts at 3pm, via this link.

On Wednesday, 27 October Sophisticated Entertainment will be staging 'Wonderland' at the Thameside.

The professional production promises to take you on a musical journey through Wonderland! Tickets can be booked via this link.

The following day (Thursday, 28 October) sees author Steven Lee at the theatre for a production of 'How the Koala learnt to hug'.

"Everyone knows that koalas love a cuddle but, the truth is, that wasn't always the case. So how exactly did the koala learn to hug?

Ten years after the publication of Steven Lee's best selling book, Karen the Koala and her furry friends are back to answer that age old question and remind us once again why there's nothing quite as wonderful as a nice warm hug.

With a feast of games, giggles and songs this charming family musical first appeared in 2010 and has been loved by children and their grown-ups ever since. Now, in this updated production, the love, laughter and magic returns for a limited season.

As an extra treat the author Steven Lee will be available to sign copies of How The Koala Learnt To Hug and Other Australian Fairytales which will be on sale after the hour long family show which is show suitable for ages 'two to 2021.

And finally, at the end of half term next week, local youngsters will be able to enjoy a magical show at the Thameside Theatre in Grays.

Pop princess party show 'Once Upon A Princess' will be stopping off at the Grays venue on Friday, 29 October.

The production features favourite fairytale princesses plus a soundtrack of top pop hits and movie musical classics.

Once Upon A Princess is now in its fifth year touring the nation's theatres and continues to entertain, inspire and captivate little princes and princesses with its toe-tapping, dance in the aisles set list which features songs from Cher, Meghan Trainor, Michael Buble, Whitney Houston, Jess Glynne, Olly Murs, Leona Lewis and S Club 7, plus West End and Broadway numbers from Hairspray, An-nie, 9 to 5 and The Greatest Showman.
