PUPILS at Purfleet Primary Academy have been treated to a 'winter wonderland' experience in the school hall.

Staff worked tirelessly to create a magical Christmas-themed adventure for the children to enjoy. They said that in this time of restrictions and lockdowns, many of the pupils would not have the opportunity to visit Santa and therefore it was crucial that staff did everything that they could to keep the magic alive.

Headteacher Eugene Samuel said: "Many of our children and their families have experienced tremendous hardship over the last eight months. It was only fitting that we provide them with an experience that lifts their spirits as only the festive season can do. A special thank you to my staff for always putting our children first.

"This has been a testing year for pupils and the children have appreciated the festive cheer."

One child said: "It was so magical. I got to see Santa."

Staff will continue to support families in need by delivering food hampers and Christmas presents.
