RESIDENTS and campaigners are celebrating today (Wednesday, 15 April) after it was confirmed plans for up to 750 homes between Orsett and Bulphan have been vetoed.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Housing and Local Government, Baroness Taylor of Stevenage, has backed a Planning Inspectorate decision to reject an appeal by developers who wanted to build on the Kings Farm site.

The full decision, which dismisses comparisons between the application turned down by Thurrock Council for Kings Farm (adjacent to the A128) and its recent decision to back 2,100 homes between Bulphan and West Horndon, can be read via the following link.
