THE Thurrock-based branch of national charity Re-engage  has expressed thanks to West Tilbury WI for a donation of £200 from the sale of their Christmas pickle onions.

Regional Re-engage organiser Loraine Coleman said: "This amazing donation will enable us to continue providing free tea parties for our elderly guests in Thurrock, offering companionship, friendship and much-valued social connection.

"It was so lovely that Linda and Susan of the West Tilbury WI joined us at our Valentine's Tea Party this week to present their donation cheque in person. The WI's support truly makes a big difference to the lives of older people in our community.

"Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity."

The tea party was hosted by Maggie and Clarissa.
