Operation Servator at Lakeside
Operation Servator at Lakeside

SPECIALLY-trained Essex Police Project Servator officers have been back at Lakeside Shopping Centre.

The team have been looking out for any signs that someone could be information gathering to help them commit a crime.

A statement from the force says: "We've been speaking with staff and customers reminding them to remain vigilant, and to report any behaviour which doesn't feel right.

"The team also set up a vehicle check point for those travelling to and from the shopping centre.

"Here our officers not only keep a look out for suspicious behaviour, they're also making sure vehicles are roadworthy and safe. This helps to keep all road users safe.

"Project Servator deployments are all about keeping people safe. They're about preventing crime. It's normal police activity and isn't linked to any specific intelligence about threats to the area."
