A LARGE number of police offers rushed to Tilbury this evening (Saturday, 3 July) to deal with a large fight, believed to have broken out between Travellers.

It happened outside the town's rail station around 7pm and the carnage that erupted involved some vehicles being damaged.

Order was eventually restored but Dock Road was closed for some time.

A police statement on Sunday morning said: "We were called to an incident in Dock Road, Tilbury, shortly before 7.25pm last night, Saturday 3 July.

"We arrived and found a large group of people had gathered after a single vehicle collision.

"No injuries had been sustained and no victims made themselves known to us. The group was dispersed."
