By Nub News Reporter   24th May 2025

Family, friends and colleagues marked Maddie's last day.
Family, friends and colleagues marked Maddie's last day.

SHOPPERS gave a rousing round of applause and cheers as a populr employee at Tilbury's ADA store clocked off for a final time today (Saturday, 24 May).

Madeline Farrow has worked at the store for 43 years, and is the last of the original store team to leave.

She has now started her retirement after being congratulated at a surprise party in store attended by family, friends and co-workers from the past five decades.

She is the second longserving member of the original store team to retire in recent weeks. In March, Nub News reported on the retirement of her colleague Ann Cooper.

Madeline and Anne both featured in a Nub News report on the 40th anniversary of the store in June 2022.
