Latest festival will explore Thames and what it means to Thurrock

DETAILS of May's 'T100 Our River' festival have been released with a range free activities taking place along the Thames Estuary.
The festival, the latest in the T100 series of events organised by Purfleet-based arts and cultural production company Kinetica.
They began ten years ago when Kinetika was invited by Thurrock Council's public health department to develop a Thurrock walking arts festival to change people's attitude to walking, reveal accessible footpaths across Thurrock and get people talking to each other. It became a 10-day walking celebration of Thurrock – featuring 10 walks in 10 days across the borough that made up a free cultural programme exploring local places, sharing stories and creativity.

Kinetica says: "Over the past decade, we've embarked on this journey alongside a growing team of local volunteers, with each year organically shaping the theme for the next.
"Now join us as we celebrate the Thames Estuary – Thurrock's ever-changing gateway to the world.

"As we explore, talk and create along its banks, what stories will we uncover? The clang of industry, the hum of wildlife, the rhythm of the tides – our river speaks.
"Check out website https://t100festival.co.uk/ourriver/ for the programme of events and to book spaces.
We are especially grateful to the local community members who have worked with us to shape this fantastic line-up of events and can't wait to get out and about with everyone in May.
"As last year, we're delighted to have many events being planned and led by children and young people from across the local area."
