IT has now been confirmed, after a period of consultation, that Grays town centre Post Office will be relocating.

As reported on Nub News last month the post office in Grays Shopping Mall will close on Tuesday, 19 April and will re-open at a new location on nearby Clarence Road on Friday, 29 April.

The post office in Grays has suffered a turbulent few years following the closure of the long-established main office on George Street. It moved to the WH Smith store in the town's shopping mall and, when that was closed, was briefly hosted withing the adjacent civic offices.

From that temporary home it moved to the current location within the shopping mall, but with the pending redevelopment of that site, another move was proposed and – after a consultation run by the Post Office – it has been approved.
