SERVICES veterans and their families enjoyed a breakfast this morning (Saturday, 7 May) as Thurrock'S Royal British Legion Grays branch hosted an event at Morrisons' store in the town.

Thanks to support from Morrisons the Legion offered a meal to all former service people who wanted to attend the three hour event and more than 60 people were fed.

Also sitting down to eat, meet and greet the guests were borough MP Jackie Doyle-Price, mayor Cllr Sue Shinnick and council leader Rob Gledhill.

The branch president, Rod Oakley said: "We had a very successful breakfast in Grays this morning at Morrisons. It did get quite busy with around 60 visitors.

"Many thanks to Sue Shinnick, Jackie Doyle-Price and Rob Gledhill for their attention and support. And a huge thank-you to Tarnya Bennett the community champion at Morrisons and all the staff there.

"We met some old and new friends. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did."
