IN the coming weeks there's likely to a lot of light-headed talk in the borough as communities come together to plan a series of events for the Light Up Thurrock Festival.

The initiative is being steered by Grays-based Creative Blast and you can learn more about it via this Facebook page.

There you will find details of meetings and workshops including a handmade lantern parade from The Old Regent in Stanford-le-Hope, returning there for refreshments, which will take place this Friday (11 March).

Also on Friday there will be an event at High House in Purfleet where all near neighbours are invited to pop along for about half an hour at about 6pm. Taking centre stage will be a mobile lights display.
