Local officers make their mark with Gateway students

OFFICERS from Thurrock Division's Community Policing Team called in at the Gateway Academy in Tilbury today (Wednesday, 8 January).

The officers met with students to complete a property marking event.

They helped students by using property marking equipment, such as UV pens to mark their bicycles, helping to both deter would-be thieves from stealing marked bicycles and increase the chances of a stolen bike being returned to its owner.

The team are looking to conduct more of these events across schools and colleges across Thurrock over the coming months.
