THE fundraising raffle run by seven-year-old Logan McCarthy for the Poppy Appeal has raised more than £500.

The winning tickets were drawn yesterday in the presence of Royal British Legion chairman Rod Oakley, who presented the Chadwell St Mary Primary student with a certificate to mark his efforts - a present to reward his kindheartedness.

It is the third year that Logan has organised the raffle, for which his mum Nicola baked and decorated the main prize - a Remembrance cake.
