Man admits guilt after colliding with spectator at Lakeside cruising event

A MAN has admitted dangerous driving following a collision at a car cruising event near to Lakeside shopping centre where someone was injured.

Police were called to reports of vehicles racing in the West Thurrock Way area with a large number of spectating at around 10.55pm on Sunday, 1 May.

A spectator was in collision with of the vehicles and injured, though the person was not seriously hurt.

The incident was condemned by divisional police chief CI Tony Atkin.

Twenty-five year-old Keaton Elliot, of Cowdray Avenue, Colchester was arrested and later summonsed to appear at court.

He attended Colchester Magistrates' Court this week where he admitted dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

Elliot is due to be sentenced at a later date and has been given an interim driving ban until then.
