Man arrested after crash that left pedestrain seriously injured.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses or who has dashcam footage of a collision in Corringham that left a pedestrian seriously injured.
Man has been arrested.
The incident, which involved black Lexus and a pedestrian, took place at 7.40pm on Friday, 27 March on the eastern side of the borough on Southend Road near Corringham and Fobbing
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and remains in hospital.
A police statement says: "We believe the pedestrian had earlier left Basildon Hospital between 5.30pm and 6pm, walking away from the hospital via Nethermayne, before continuing onto Southend Road, where the collision occurred.
"As part of our investigation, a 64-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs. He has since been released under investigation.
"We believe there may have been witnesses in the area at the time. If you have information or footage that could assist our investigation, please come forward.
"We want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam or CCTV footage from Southend Road, Nethermayne, or surrounding routes between 5.30pm and 7.40pm. Please quote crime reference 42/39656/26.
