Man arrested after shining laser at police 'copter

A MAN is in custody following reports a laser was shone into a police helicopter from a vehicle travelling along the M25 in Thurrock.

The 41-year-old man from Eltham, south-east London, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs and a knife and endangering an aircraft.

Police received reports at around 9.40pm yesterday (Monday, 4 May), that a laser had been shone from a vehicle travelling towards the QEII Bridge at Dartford.

The vehicle was stopped at the Swanley Interchange along the M25 in Kent and a passenger was arrested. Enquiries are ongoing.
