A MAN was arrested after police officers responded to him acting suspiciously in Lakeside shopping centre at midday yesterday (Tuesday, 3 March).

The man, 35, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife or bladed article during the incident at the M&S store cafe.

A police statement confirmed the incident and said he has been released under investigation.

A witness told Thurrock Nub News: "An Asian man came into the cafe, ate, left then returned. He was shouting, swearing, vaping and sat at a table alone charging his phone. He also had a knife. All the staff were very disturbed by what happened."
