Man arrested in connection with death of woman at sheltered housing complex

FOLLOWING the death of an elderly woman at the Freeman Court sheltered housing complex in Corringham on Monday, a man has been arrested.

A statement from Essex Police today (Wednesday, 5 June) says: "We were called by colleagues in the ambulance service shortly after 9.30am on Monday 3 June to a property in Freeman Court, Corringham, where the body of an elderly woman was discovered.

"A 55-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a vulnerable person.

"He has been released on bail until 29 July."
