Man arrested near Dry Street for murder in armed police operation

ARMED police officers were present at the arrest of a 34 year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder in the Nethermayne area of Basildon at around 11.15am today (Thursday, 5 January).
The incident, which involved a significant number of officers, was close to properties on Dry Street and police said the arrest is in connection with a Met Police investigation.
The man is currently in custody.
