Man jailed following two attacks by his dog
A THURROCK man has been jailed after his dog injured another man in Kent.
Jack Fincham, 32, of Culford Road in Grays, was charged with being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury, and being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing no injury, after two incidents involving his cane corso dog.
In Saleh Drive in Swanley, Kent, in September 2022, a man in his 40s reported an injury to his arm caused by the dog.
Then in Culford Road in Grays June 2024, a woman in her 40s reported a dog grabbed her leg, leaving no injury.
Fincham appeared at Southend-on-Sea Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 29 January and pleaded guilty to both charges, and was jailed for six weeks.
Speaking after sentencing, Sergeant Alex Watkins said: "Owners have to take responsibility for their dogs, and on these occasions this dog was dangerously out of control.
"On both occasions the owner was given a chance to rectify their behaviour with words of advice and a conditional caution - however failed to do so, resulting in this sentencing.
"I thank both victims for their courage during this investigation."
