AFTER a short ceremony outside Thurrock Council civic offices and the town hall this morning (Wednesday, 23 April) the flag of St george and England was raised tomark St George's Day,

The service, attended by councillors, officers and members of the public was led by mayor's chaplain Rev Dr Kate Cooper.

A speech from Mayor, Cllr Sue Shinnick followed before she raised the flag and the service concluded with the singing of 'Jerusalem'.
