Mayor's gift to heritage charity

THURROCK Mayor Cllr Kairen Raper made one of her final visits of the civic year today (Sunday, 18 May) to make a donation of £100 from her charity fund to Purfleet Heritage & Military Centre.

As she arrived there were two group visits in progress: a Dementia and Alzheimer's memory walk. Followed by a U3a group, who were touring the centre.

Recently appointed chair of the centre, Trevor Batchelor said: "We were very grateful to be considered and receive this money in recognition of all the hard work our volunteers put in."
