More carriageway closures on A13

By Neil Speight 27th Jan 2022

FOR a third weekend in a row major works on the A13 will be causing traffic disruption.

In fact closures began last night (Wednesday, 26 January) and they will be repeated tonight when the A13 eastbound will be closed between the A128 (Orsett) and A1014 (Stanford-le-Hope) junctions, between 10pm and 5am.

At the weekend, from 9pm on Friday, 28 January until 5am on Monday 31 January, the A13 will be closed in both directions between the A1089 (Tilbury Dock approach Road) and the A128 (Orsett Cock) junctions for road surfacing works.

In addition, the A1089 northbound link road to the A13 eastbound carriageway will also be closed.

During the weekend closure, traffic will be diverted via the A13, M25, A127, A128 and vice versa. A separately signed alternative route will be available for vehicles which are not permitted to use motorway diversion routes.

Thurrock Council says: "To minimise the impact on residential areas, road users are urged not to divert through nearby towns and villages."
