More than £38K in cash found in car alongside illicit substances. Fobbing man charged

A THURROCK man has been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drugs at Class A, B and C and possessing criminal property.

Drug supply charges have been authorised against Thomas Salton, 30, of High Road, Fobbing, after a routine vehicle stop unveiled a large sum of cash and illicit substances.

Officers on patrol stopped a vehicle in Southernhay, Basildon, on Friday, 1 December after it showed as having no valid insurance.

After the stop, a search of the vehicle uncovered more than £38,000 in cash, alongside an amount of ketamine and nitrous oxide cannisters.

Salton was arrested and taken into custody. Following the arrest, warrants were executed at addresses in Brentwood and Vange, with further amounts of Class A and B drugs discovered.

Salton has since been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drugs at Class A, B and C and possessing criminal property.

He appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court on Monday, 4 December and was remanded in custody until a hearing at Basildon Crown Court Thursday, 4 January.
