POLICE remain on scene at Alexandra Lake at Lakeside this morning following the disappearance of a teenage boy last evening (Friday, 31 July).

There has been no further official word from the emergency services since very late last night when they confirmed they were looking for the boy, who was reportedly last seen on an inflatable water park.

Firefighters, ambulance crews and specialist search teams were involved.

This morning the area around the lake remains cordoned off and access to Lakeside car parks and the Boardwalk is restricted.

Police officers on scene say they are unable to comment and we await an official update on the situation.

The boy has been reported to be a student at Hassenbrook School in Stanford-le-Hope.
