A BOROUGH family have paid tribute to a local business that saved a recent Mother's Day treat.

Wendy Jane Collins from Aveley believes it's always important to accentuate the positive where possible and Nub News agrees and is delighted to share her story.

Wendy says: "We were so impressed with the whole service we thought other people in Thurrock might like to know.

"I was let down on something for my Mum for Mother's Day and was looking for something nice to replace it.

"At the last minute I contacted Kelly from Wonderland events, afternoon teas and grazing, a Grays company and was beyond impressed from the off.

"My mum, Dolores, has a health condition affecting her throat and stomach and has to be extremely careful what she can eat and her diet is very limited. In the past we have been met with comments of 'it's a set menu' or reluctantly changing a single item.

"With Kelly it was such a different experience…absolutely nothing was too much trouble.

"She listened to what I said about Mum's health and despite the many questions/issues changed pretty much every item in the afternoon tea to suit her needs. We were made to feel valued as a customer from the very beginning.

"So, ordering done we sat down to wait for Mother's Day to see if the delivery and the tea itself were as good as the planning. Kelly told me she would deliver to my Mum at the Rowans in Aveley between 10 and 11am, but probably nearer to 11. At 10.50am Kelly arrived at my Mum's door.

"She and my stepfather were so impressed with her politeness and friendliness, taking the time to tell them who the delivery was from and to wish them a lovely day. Now some may say for the most important bit, did the food itself disappoint? No…it certainly didn't.

"The food was nicely presented, tied in a pretty pink ribbon. I'd ordered a second tea for my stepfather and Kelly had taken the time to mark my Mum's with a gift tag to make sure they weren't mixed up.

"So in this day and age with so many people looking for affordable value and even more so someone that is willing to go so far to take health conditions in to account to keep their customers both healthy and happy.

"We just wanted to share our experience. We can't thank Kelly and Wonderland events, afternoon teas and grazing enough."
