A NEW Wi-Fi printing service has launched that lets residents print documents from their personal device and collect them at their local library.

Through the Thurrock website, those with a library card are able to upload the documents they wish to have printed from their phone, laptop or tablet. Once their files have been submitted, residents can visit any Thurrock library within 24 hours and use the self-service systems available, and pay a small fee per printed item.

Access to the service and guidance on using the system, including the common file types that can be printed from personal devices and printing fees, can be viewed at thurrock.gov.uk/libraries.

Cllr Qaisar Abbas, Cabinet Member for Communities, said "The new Wi-Fi printing service is a great way for those who don't own or have easy access to a printer to quickly and easily get their documents printed.

"Whilst we continue to promote a digital-first approach across our services, we understand that sometimes there's a need for a paper copy of an important document or paperwork in our lives.

"It's incredibly easy to use our new service, with residents able to upload their documents over Wi-Fi via the Thurrock website, and send them to print within minutes – it really is a great way for our residents to connect with their local libraries."

Becoming a library member only takes a few minutes and can be completed online or at your local library.
