THURROCK fans of Kentucky Fried Chicken have missed out in the latest round of restaurants that are to reopen.

The food chain has announced a list of 100 UK outlets in the country but though KFC has a couple of outlets in Thurrock and one at Pitsea, they remain closed for the immediate future.

The nearest to the borough is the Gallows outlet at Romford.

The company says more will open up soon, adding: "We're reopening our restaurants in a responsible way, with stringent processes and hygiene measures in place. We'll be serving a limited menu to help the smaller kitchen teams maintain social distancing.

"Opening these restaurants will mean that we can continue donating food to NHS and key workers - we'll be delivering 10,000 meals a week from these restaurants in partnership with Deliveroo, Just Eat or Uber Eats.

"If you're not near one of the lucky hundred, never fear - we're working hard to reopen more over the coming weeks, so we'll keep you posted."

If you run a takeaway business that has reopened or is planning to, offering delivery or collection in Thurrock, please let us know via email to [email protected], our Facebook page or by the Local Listings NubIt button via the link at the top of our home page.
