THURROCK Council have dismissed concerns that the borough may have been subject to a spoke in Covid-19 cases.

Rumours that there had been a significant increase in cases in the South Ockendon area, reportedly affecting a traveller site.

However, the council says: "There are no significant outbreaks anywhere in the borough.

"Thurrock Council and health partners are working together to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 through the outbreak control plan which was published on 30 June."
