AN application to build nine new houses on the site of a bungalow in Stanford-le-Hope is being recommended for approval.

News of the application was first reported on Thurrock Nub News in January. A year earlier a plan to build eight new homes on the garden plot on Windy Ridge, a site at 251 Branksome Avenue, was thrown out because of its overbearing impact upon adjacent homes plus parking and waste collection issues - but this time planning officers say the bigger scheme should go ahead.

Consideration of the application will be considered at this week's meeting of Thurrock Council's planning committee (Thursday, 19 August) and comes less than a month after a majority of members approved two other 'infill builds' in the same area despite ward councillors' and residents' objections.

The full application, which has also been opposed by many local residents, before councillors on Thursday can be read via this link.
