GOOD Moaning! Thurrock Courts Players will return to the Thameside Theatre next month with another hit TV comedy – the stage version of Allo Allo.

Visitors to Grays' Thameside Theatre will be able to enjoy the antics of favourite characters at Cafe Rene as the randy cafe owner Rene Artois hides British airmen for the Resistance and stores the priceless painting of the Fallen Madonna with the Big... (ahem!) for the Germans, while keeping his secret relationships with waitresses Yvette and Mimi from his wife Edith.

The company last performed Allo Allo in 2003 and some of the original cast reprise their previous roles, some play new parts and a host of recognisable Courts faces make up the rest of these well known characters.

The show contains hilarity, double-entendre and catchphrases by the bucketload.

Courts are well known for their imitation skills when it comes to TV comedy, with previous productions of The Vicar of Dibley and Blackadder receiving rave reviews from audiences.

This first show of 2024 follows last year's productions of The 39 Steps and Clue on Stage, which have both been nominated for NODA's Best Play award in the district, and begins another uncertain year for the theatre complex.

Secretary and Clue director Torie Grayling said: "We're absolutley thrilled with the nominations for last year's plays, this is the third year running we have been nominated twice in the category and hopefully it'll be the third year running we bring home the prize.

"We're so lucky to have the Thameside as our home and can't imagine performing anywhere else.

"With the council's new consultation on Arts and Culture just released, we strongly encourage all residents to complete the survey and show the council how much the theatre means to the local community."

Listen very carefully, I will say this only once - Allo Allo will be performed from 15-17 February 2024 at the Thameside Theatre and tickets are already selling fast.

Book direct from the box office on 0345 300 5264 or online at ALLO ALLO (thamesidetheatre.com)
