ANOTHER night of comedy will be held in Thurrock, hosted by the borough's LGBTQ+ group.

The local volunteer run group is based at the Thameside Theatre and it aims to create spaces where where LGBTQ+ people feel safe and accepted as part of the community and make the local LGBTQ+ scene a vibrant, welcoming one.

The group hosts get togethers on the last Friday of the month at Thurrock & Brentwood Mind's information and advice hub at Unit 7 in the Grays Shopping Centre.

Peer group and social events are held on the last Tuesday of the month from 7 to 8pm on the third floor bar at the Thameside complex on Orsett Road.

The Thameside is also the home of comedy nights the next one being on Tuesday, 30 May at 8pm when the headline act at an event hosted by Little Smash Comedy Live will be award-winning comedian Dan Tiernan.

Group spokesperson Jon said: "Each month we run two peer group drop-ins with the support of Thurrock & Brentwood Mind, and each month run an LGBTQ+ Social at the Thameside Theatre. This month is a comedy night where we champion LGBTQ+ comedians.

"We are also running a brand new event in conjunction with Havens Hospice Charity. An LGBTQ+ private shopping event will be held on Monday, 5 June at Havens' charity shop on the Parade on Lodge Lane, Socketts Heath.

"Print out the poster with this story and it will admit one LGBTQ+ member and a guest and there's a free drink on entry.

"It's going to be a secure space for all LGBTQ+ individuals and their loved ones."
