Officers escape injury as thieves ram police car and flee

A POLICE car was rammed in an incident in South Ockendon last night (Saturday, 4 April).

Officers on patrol spotted a suspected stolen Ford Kuga in West Road at 8.35pm.

It reversed into a police car and rammed into another and the occupants fled the scene.

A police statement says: "Officers carried out a search of the area and enquiries remain ongoing.

Fortunately no officers were injured."
